List to Keep Me (and You) on Track

Here are some things we can "indulge" in that won't pack on pounds:

  • A massage.  Ask someone you love to please oblige.  (Otherwise, pay for it!)
  • Fresh flowers - zero calories, they brighten up the house and smell so nice.
  • A nice long walk - it's free, it's healthy and it allows your body and brain to function.
  • A nice long walk WITH a friend - allows you to talk out your problems and feel the love!
  • Prayer - allows you to talk out your problems with the Ultimate Friend.
  • Music - it's amazing how music can bring you back in time and turn your focus from chocolate to singing out loud!
  • Water - a bubble bath, hot shower or dunk in a swimming pool redirects even the hungriest mind and body.

Places to stay away from when you are in an "off-track" diet mindset:

  • The Mall - the smells will drive you crazy and shopping can be as addictive as Cinnabon when you are in a "weak" mindset.
  • Bakeries, Restaurants and other Place of Temptation - duh! (no explanation necessary)
  • Places That You Associate With Food - If Grandma's house equates to home-baked cookies in your mind (and in her cookie jar), better to invite Granny to your place instead!
  • In Front of Your TV - unless you are watching (and participating in) the Fitness network.
